For many Spanish learners, conjugation is one of the most challenging parts of the language. Verbs are divided into three categories: verbs ending in -ar, -er and -ir. Therefore, conjugation of verbs will depend on the standard patterns and whether the verbs are regular or irregular.
Conjugations of regular verbs
Generally when we use present indicative, we have to pay attention to the ending of the verbs (-ar,-er,-ir). Then we will remove that ending and get the verb stem (bailar > bail). After, we will add the specific endings for each person to that stem (Yo bailo > I dance). We can see the conjugations in the following chart:
Pronombres | bailar | beber | asistir |
Yo | bailo | bebo | asisto |
Tú | bailas | bebes | asistes |
Él/ ella | baila | bebe | asiste |
Nosotros(as) | bailamos | bebemos | asistimos |
Ustedes | bailan | beben | asisten |
Ellos(as) | bailan | beben | asisten |
